Sarah the Mantis

Stagmomantis Californica – Wild caught. 1st molt. She was so tiny and had an injured leg. I nursed her back to health with honey on a toothpick and she never even tried to leave. She shed her bad leg and grew a new one. Kept her for a few months through multiple molts until she died. She would walk across the room to sit on my sunglasses.

They can recognize faces and recognize who feeds them and treats them well. In turn they kill and eat every dangerous bug, bee, spider that comes around. They dance when they’re healthy and well fed. Entertaining and protective little insects.
